Merupu to be shelved?

Sources say young superstar Ram Charan Teja’sMerupu, which was launched on April 30, 2010, is likely to be shelved! It is said that the film's director Dharani quoted a high budget for Merupu, but Chiranjeevi did not accept, saying "Either reduce the budget or drop the project."
On the other hand, the director feels that this proposed pukka mass entertainer requires a large budget to be shot in a stylish way. Anyway, if he needs to proceed further, the director has to slash his 'grand plans' of production. That is the final word from Chiranjeevi.
After the failure of Orange, Chiranjeevi seems to be taking special care of Ram Charan Teja's forthcoming projects. Merupu, produced by Mega Super Good Movies, was scheduled to commence its regular shooting from the third week of January.

AOD Fails

Despite mixed reviews, some movies manage to recover their production cost during the crucial first week! Apparently, it does not apply to Walt Disney's debut South Indian production aganaga O Dheerudu, one of the most awaited movies of the season!
According to sources, in spite of its rich graphics works, Anaganaga O Dheerudu could not create big ripples at the box office. The film managed to collect only Rs. 5.7 crores in the first week, while the anticipated turnover was around Rs. 12 crores.
The film was made with a whopping Rs. 32 crores and if the business in the second week continues to be the same, the makers would never recover their money from the box office, experts say.

Anushka with Guna

Tall beauty Anushka, who enthralled audiences with her performance in the heroine-centric biopicArundhati last year, has reportedly bagged yet another heroine-centric film to be directed by ace Gunasekhar.
According to sources, the film will be a historic movie, based on the life of Rani Rudrama Devi (1259-1289), one of the few queens in Indian history who were rulers.
It is also learnt that this untitled film will be made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously with a whopping budget of Rs. 40 crores. However, an official announcement is awaited. The discussions are presently on.

Big joke in Charan-Lanco kid fight

It is known news that recently, Ramcharan Tej had a street brawl of sorts with son of the Lanco family. Sources say that things got messy but the timely intervention of Allu Arjun settled the matter. And now, it is heard that even the Lanco family is willing to excuse Charan as he did that in a fit of rage.

However, one thing is said to be amusing the Lanco folks. It is heard that during the brawl, one of Charan’s friends called all those who were with Lanco’s son and gave them a ‘Dhamki’. It seems he said “you don’t know who I am, I can finish you, I belong to a very rich family in Hyderabad”.

This has become the biggest joke of the entire incident. Just like the filmy style, more than the actual people, it is those around them who give the real ‘build-up’. Those who heard this say that such people should be given some sound bashing then and there to clear their arrogant airs.

Who is Manchu Lakshmi?

For the past couple of days, web media is abuzz with the news that Lakshmi Prasanna will be playing lead role in Hrithik Roshan's next big budgeted movie, Krrish 3. When leading newspaper, Times Of India, approached Rakesh Roshan, the director and producer of the film, to confirm the news, he said he's never heard of her!

"I haven't met her, seen her or even heard of her. This is the first time I'm hearing this news. Who is she? By the way, Priyanka Chopra has been finalised for Krrish 3," he said.
